We aim for this section of the site to give support to parents. This may be in parenting matters. However we have also produced some videos which we hope will inform parents about how we teach certain skills in school in order that they can be well supported at home.
Parenting is rarely easy and this is perhaps even more so nowadays with seemingly ever-increasing pressures on parents. Mrs Walker and Mrs Henstock run parenting sessions which offer support and reassurance to parents. Many parents – confident and less confident - have found these sessions invaluable in the past. We know that parents have gained insights which have sometimes transformed children.
Sessions are in very small groups and are informal and relaxed. They give parents an opportunity to help solve each other's problems, find out about different approaches or simply unburden themselves. We recognise that some people may feel apprehensive about being part of such a group and work hard to make sure it is a positive and enjoyable experience for all. If you are interested in these sessions, please contact school on 01226 760930.

We have many parents who are keen to help their children in areas such as handwriting and want to do so in a way which supports how children are taught in school. We have made some short videos which we hope will help this process. There is a general introduction to how we teach handwriting. Letters are then grouped into families which are based on similar patterns and shapes.
