Admissions

As a maintained school, our admissions are managed by the Barnsley Council Admissions Office:

Email: schooladmissions@barnsley.gov.uk

We admit children to school at three points:

Nursery - If you wish to apply for a place at our Nursery, please collect an Admission Booklet from the school office.  Applications can be made after your child’s 2nd birthday and they will be added to the waiting list in age order.   Children can start Nursery the term after their 3rd birthday.   There are 3 intakes into Nursery: September, January and Easter. Please note that admission to Nursery does not mean your child will automatically be accepted to our school for Reception.

Reception – You can apply for a place in Reception even if your child has not been to our Nursery.  Children are admitted to our school according to national guidelines and this can be from the September after children have reached the age of four.  While for many children this will present no difficulties, some children may not be ready at this stage and we advise you to discuss arrangements, including the possibility of part time admission with our staff. LA Admission Booklets are issued to parents who return the admissions form to the school of their choice.

If school is oversubscribed, places are allocated on a geographical basis with the places going to those who live closest to school.  However, siblings of existing children will take priority.

During the year - From time to time, parents may wish to change the school their child is at.  This can happen at any time during the primary school years however admission is subject to places being available.

Parents considering applying for our school are more than welcome to visit.  An appointment can be made with the Headteacher by ringing the office. It is better to visit during the day and see the school in action.  However, if this is not convenient, other arrangements can be made.
